Brassic Calls it a Day with Influenced by Tarantino Last Episode

The creators Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are wrapping up on their humorous show about a tight-knit bunch of endearing rogues causing chaos in a countryside town in Lancashire. You might expect the last episode to be a nostalgic highlight reel of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. However, the vibes are distinctly darker as the character Vinnie, played by Gilgun and the crew barricade themselves in a pub with criminal figure Davey MacDonagh for a final 50th installment seemingly influenced by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.

The Series All Creatures Great and Small

9pm on Channel 5
The animal-related escapades are generally good, but this superior period drama earns its corn with emotional character development. An especially moving installment weaves the stories of a lame shire horse and a missing young cow into a more serious storyline focusing on the character Tristan, whose behaviour prompts a brotherly confrontation.

The Drama The Hack

9pm, ITV1
It’s been a long road. But the second-to-last episode of this at first slow-moving but ultimately compelling phone-hacking drama sees David Tennant’s Nick discovering details about the actions of the News of the World that the rest of the media simply are forced to acknowledge. The situation improves for the character Dave, who has a surprising new ally.

RuPaul's Drag Race UK

9pm on BBC Three
Jazz hands at the ready: it’s time to stage Peter Pansy – The Rusical! That means the stress increases for the drag performers to perform vocally, dance, and act and finally impress as they get ready for the show. And who better to guest judge than renowned West End star Mazz Murray, together with the panel including Graham Norton, Michelle Visage, and RuPaul.

The Series The Iris Affair

9pm on Sky Atlantic
Anyone afraid of insects will want to fast-forward as the sixth episode starts, before something of a Mexican (or rather Sardinian) standoff occurs, when Cameron compels Iris to exchange her journal for the captured Joy – else she’ll be “shot repeatedly” from the threatening drone controlled by Meski … What escape plan can they devise?
