Esteemed Star Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Appearances in The Middle and Friends, Dies at 60 Years Old.
American actor Pat Finn, who appeared in popular television series like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in Los Angeles recently having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his family stated in a announcement.
They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with zest and passion".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he played the lead character's sibling.
He subsequently landed a recurring role on "Murphy Brown" between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a host known to delegate unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- "House"
His most famous role for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits include It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was a member of a six-member improv team known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn guided, supported, and advised countless students throughout the years and it would be difficult to find anyone anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
In a tribute, colleague and actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. An excellent dad and person," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his family.
