Salah Offers Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Mohamed Salah expressed regret to the group of players after the uproar from his televised remarks.
What Happened
He was omitted from a European match after making accusations and stating his relationship with manager had broken down.
“Mo is his own man and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, please accept my apology.’”
The manager has refused to disclose on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and everybody was exactly the same with him,” Jones added.
He also suggested that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I get that there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just be on the bench, then I think that’s concerning.”
On-Field Response
The team's performance have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the situation. He feels the outburst were not intended to destabilise the squad.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it’s always been from a desire to win,” Jones concluded. “That chapter is closed and we’re gelling well as a team, getting results and on a positive run.”
