The Grisly Animated Film Conclusion That Lingers Viewers
Among every adult-oriented animated films I’ve personally viewed, nothing has remained with me quite like the fear-filled finale of the viscerally violent and highly provocative 2022 movie Unicorn Wars.
Back in the year 2015, this Spain-based filmmaker crafted a dark, melancholy , often savage world with several minor , desolate hints of hope.
While Unicorn Wars feels like it originated from a drive to push the medium even more, the filmmaker clarified that it was rather a try to communicate a universal, cross-cultural message concerning “the shared root of each battle.”
That idea is expressed by means of a squad of colorful pastel bears , openly based on a popular line of cuddly figures.

“Initially, it appears as a comedy,” the filmmaker said. “However it becomes a more dramatic and melancholic movie. And by the end, it transforms into a scary feature.”
The Unicorn Wars starts out similar to one of the most quirky features from an iconic animator, that uncover a mischievous joy in letting drawn beings curse, fire weapons, or sex each other up.
Then it turns into more akin to a bleaker work from that artist, with increasingly explicit brutality , a tangible connection to genuine tragedy of conflict.
In the finale, it is a complete theatrical horror massacre.
