Torrential Downpours Aggravate Conditions for Uprooted Gazans, Agencies Warn
Intense storms over the recent period have worsened the extremely difficult living conditions of the vast number of evacuated Palestinians in the region, as stated by relief groups.
"Horrendous" Weather Poses Severe Dangers
A representative described the weather overnight as "terrible", with precipitation so intense that as much as 15cm (6in) of water accumulated on the streets.
"Last night was exceptionally difficult for the people. The heavy rains were so intense... And the winds were so strong," stated the representative.
There is significant worry that young ones residing in temporary structures in soaked attire will contract hypothermia and various illnesses.
Fatalities and Widespread Destruction
Medical officials have stated that one baby has passed away from exposure and at least 11 other people have died in roof cave-ins due to the harsh conditions.
Additional accounts suggest a greater fatality count. Spokespeople stated that multiple homes had totally fallen and dozens had been partly destroyed.

Aid Efforts Considered Insufficient
Organizations have escalated distribution of tents, warm covers and garments following the truce started, but they emphasize there is still not enough aid getting in.
"We are operating tirelessly to provide that relief and to allocate it, but the scale of the requirements is so vast that we still have many thousands of individuals and children who are genuinely struggling each evening," stated one official.
Ongoing Concerns and Agreement Terms
The subsequent part of the agreement encompasses arrangements for the reconstruction of Gaza, along with post-war governance, the withdrawal of troops, and other provisions.
Relief bodies have stressed the necessity for "greater and continuous relief to respond to pressing and long-term needs."
